Genda Throw - Indigo
About this product
Our cotton Genda Throw has been printed using a Dabu, or mud-resist technique, which has been practiced in Northern India for over 800 years. A mud paste is applied to cotton fabric with hand-held wooden blocks. When the mud dries, the fabric is dyed with natural indigo and turmeric dyes - the paste is then removed to reveal the pattern underneath. Every step in this process has been carried out by hand, so no two pieces will be alike.
