About this product
From Combekk's 'Rails Edition', this casserole pot is made from recycled railway tracks and comes with all the benefits of cooking in cast iron. Key features: Made from recycled railway tracks In-built thermometer Strong stain-resistant enamel coating Excellent cast iron heat retention and distribution Freezer safe Suitable for all hob types, including induction Cast iron retains heat so well that less energy is required for cooking casseroles, stews and braising meat, in the oven or on the hob. The in-built thermometer helpfully teaches you to cook at the right temperature to avoid the guesswork, over-cooking and wasting energy. Cast iron has excellent heat distribution too, for even braising, roasting, slow-cooking, baking bread and other types of cooking. Since iron never loses its quality, Combekk works with 100% recycled materials without having to mine for iron ore. The origin of the main component of the mix of materials is clearly stamped on the bottom of the product. In the Combekk furnace in Holland, the traditional Dutch Oven manufacturing technique is used to pour molten iron into a sand mould, producing an exact fitting lid to retain moisture for succulent cooking. The lid's nodules collect and distribute moisture, making the pot ideal for steaming vegetables and fish. The weight and quality of the pot ensure it's built to last, while sturdy handles make it easy to carry. The strong, protective single-layer enamel coating makes the pot stain-resistant to keep its appearance for years to come.
